Festive Spirits Festival
19th OCTOBER 2024
TIVERTON, DEVON
Brilliant early Halloween event. Shattered but happy. We spoke to so many people about the vital importance of sterilisation/spay/neutering, the global stray dog challenges, war and conflicts and the amazing work by our charity partners in caring for vulnerable dogs/animals.
A Doggy Day Out Festive Market
3rd NOVEMBER 2024
Royal Cornwall Showground
Wow. What a special day. Up at the crack of dawn to set up. But very well worth it. Such brilliant discussions with members of the public about our work. There were people from all over the county and country in fact. We made a fantastic number of sales to support our charity partners. And the best bit of all - meeting so many furry friends!
We will be back in 2025!
Visit to Happy Landings Animal Rescue in Somerset
10th NOVEMBER 2024
Happy Landings Animal Rescue, Phylle, Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Fantastic visit to one of our charity partners Happy Landings Animal Rescue in the Westcountry of England. Happy Landings keep animals safe that have been rescued for all sorts of reasons. They also assist the RSPCA by boarding some of their dogs, when necessary due to capacity issues. Due to safeguarding issues, we couldn't take pictures to post publicly of some of the animals. Some dogs, could have been relocated from other parts of the South-West such as Cornwall or Devon or even the Midlands for instance! Proving that yet again, as a community we need to support one another, locally and nationally. We had an excellent conversation about the importation of foreign rescue dogs and how essential it is for adopters to use a charity such as Pennypaws Rescue Romania to UK . Where the charity is registered and regulated and where the rescue service commit to emergency back up. So that if any adoptions breakdown, the dogs are not abandoned and taken in by overflowing UK shelters. Again, another way in which we can work as a community to ease pressures on one another. A huge thank you to Beth and Charlotte who gave up their time to educate us today. We spoke about our eco merchandise which we sell to raise funds and the importance of reducing plastic pollution, especially for coastal regions such as Cornwall and Gunjur Region of The Gambia.
The star of the show, however, was unquestionably COCO. Who took a strong shine to Neil! A beautiful girl still waiting for her special home.
Here is the link with her information.
